 I’m Starting the Pre-Trip Inspection.
Truck Brakes are Engaged. 
( Button Out).

 The Shifter is in neutral. 
(Move The Shifter and Show Them it’s in neutral!)
I’m removing the Keys from the ignition 
and put them in your pocket!

Note: If it’s an Automatic Transmission State That it’s in neutral!

 I’m Chocking the drivers side 
Drive Tire.

 I’m Checking the Headlight Housings they’re mounted securely clear in color, not cracked or damaged, they’re in good working order.

 I’m Checking under the vehicle looking for leaks or puddles.
I’m Checking the vehicle to see if it’s leaning to the Right or to the Left? This would indicate a deflated air bag, broken spring or a flat tire. It's in good working order.

 I’m Checking the Alternator its mounted securely, not cracked or damaged. All wires are mounted securely and not chaffed or cracked. I’m Checking the Belt its not frayed, cracked, less than ½ inch of deflection. Its in good working order.

 I’m Checking the Water Pump , mounted securely, not cracked, damaged or leaking. I’m checking the Belt its not frayed or cracked, no more than ½ inch of deflection.
If Gear Driven state that its Gear Driven. It is in good working order.

 I’m Checking the Fuel Tank its mounted securely, not cracked or damaged, not leaking from the Tank or the Cap. Cap is in place and Tight.
Its in good working order.

 I’m Checking the Steps they are mounted securely and not dented or damaged. Not contaminated with oil or grease.
They’re in good working order.

The Next Step is for You to do it!
Take the CDL Smart Training Manual to the Truck and complete 
this section of the Pre-Trip Inspection!
DO IT HANDS ON TRAINING!

I’m approaching the Railroad Crossing I’m turning on my 4 Way Emergency Flashers at 200 feet before the Railroad Crossing and I will be in the Right Lane.
 I will check the traffic behind me using my mirrors.
 I will Stop the truck at 15 to 50 feet before the Railroad Tracks and
  roll down the windows and turnoff all noise makers, radio. CB’s etc..
I will make sure there is enough room to cross the tracks.
I will carefully look and listen down both directions of the track.

I’m turning on the turn signal.
I’m pulling off the road at a safe speed.
I’m turning on the 4-way flashers.
I’m making sure the truck is at least two feet off the road.
I’m not blocking any Fire Hydrants or Roads.
I’m setting the parking brakes.

"Here in Arkansas they have started a new rule called form A B or C where the examiner can either start you on the front of the truck the 5th wheel or rear of the trailer and make you work forward to the front. I drew the form B where I had to do in cab air break tug test then he started me at the 5th wheel worked my way to the back of the trailer then came up start at the back of the truck and work my way forward we finished the inspection of the passenger side of the engine compartment.
